Our church believes that faith comes alive when we serve beyond our walls. That’s why we partner with a variety of community organizations that care for people, offer support, and bring hope to those who need it most. These partnerships give us meaningful ways to live out our mission and share Christ’s love in everyday, practical ways.

New Hope Presbyterian Church and Center Baptist Church partner to sponsor the BackPack program for New Hope Elementary School. Between 800 to 1,000 students in Gaston County Schools will go home each weekend to a household with very little food to eat or no food at all. The BackPack Weekend Food Program, Inc. (BWFP) is dedicated to providing healthy, non-perishable meals to students to take home on the weekend during the school year so they can come to school the following week better nourished and ready to learn.

New Hope Presbyterian has a history of supporting the Black Mountain Home for Children. This year, nearly 170 children who have endured neglect, abuse, exploitation, abandonment, and other traumas will be entrusted to their care. Each year New Hope collects school supplies in September and January; Christmas gifts for the children in December; and the Women of Church donate gift baskets to be auctioned at Black Mountains fall fund raiser.

New Hope Presbyterian supports Crisis Assistance Ministry’s (CAM) food pantry with our goal of 30 bags of food, with 6 items in each bag, every month. CAM screens applicants to assure food goes to those in need. Food is collected the 2nd Sunday of each month and delivered to the CAM Food Pantry located at W. Airline Avenue in Gastonia.
The Joel Kendrick Scout Hut, located across the street from New Hope’s sanctuary, is home to our Boy Scout, Cub Scout, and Girl Scout troops. In addition to their regular meetings, the scouts assist with New Hope’s annual spring pine‑needle sale, helping raise funds for their troops and supporting the church’s children and youth ministries.
